FeelQuran

Questions

What is FeelQuran?
FeelQuran is an app that teaches Muslims the meaning of what they recite: first everything they say in salah, then the Qur'an as it is recited, and in the long run every word of it, one word at a time, in exercises the app chooses for each learner.
Do I need to know Arabic?
You need to be able to read the Arabic script, as you do when you recite. You don't need to know any Arabic grammar or vocabulary: FeelQuran teaches the meanings from the first word. It doesn't teach reading the script itself.
Will I have to write or speak Arabic?
No. FeelQuran only asks you to recognise words and their meanings, by reading and by listening. It never asks you to write or say Arabic from memory, and it doesn't teach grammar as rules or tables.
Is it free?
The salah passages are free, and so are the reviews of every word you have learned, for as long as you use the app. The rest of the course is a subscription. There are no ads, ever.
When can I use it?
FeelQuran is being built now. A small group of learners will use it first. Leave your email address on the home page to hear when it opens.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, Android and the browser. On phones it works without a connection, and your progress stays in sync across your devices.
In which languages are the meanings taught?
English and Bosnian first, then Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian and Malay, and German.
Where do the meanings come from?
From established word-by-word translations of the Qur'an and from the analysis of every word into its root and form. FeelQuran doesn't write its own translations of ayat or tafsir, and it gives no rulings.
How is the Qur'anic text shown?
Always in its verified Uthmani text, as in the mushaf, in a font you choose. It is never misspelled, scrambled or used as a wrong answer, and it is never drawn over.
Does it have streaks or daily goals?
No. There are no streaks, no daily goals and no public leaderboards. Progress is the ayat you understand, never a count of days or prayers.
How long does it take?
FeelQuran counts in exercises, not days, because everyone learns at their own pace. You can do one exercise or a hundred at a time. The first aim is that you understand everything you say in salah.
Who makes FeelQuran?
FeelQuran was founded by Haris Botić, who builds it. You can write to haris@feelquran.com.
